Turn signal wiring

Hi guys, I have a quick question for anyone with experience in the front end electrical --

The dealer had the front of my bike apart, and on my way home I noticed that the rear turn signals work correctly, but the FRONT turn signals are wired in reverse -- The left front signal works with the right rear.

I looked at the wiring diagram in the manual (thanks for posting it, btw), and it appears that the turn signals are hard wired into the harness, meaning that I have to physically swap the wires at the turn signals. Is this correct, or is there a connector on the harness someplace that I need to swap?

Thanks!

Easy fix, take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

Well, that's not actually so easy -- they're an hour from my house and I'd have to take a day of vacation to do that.

Otherwise, though, I'd agree with you!

Anyone ever opened up that wiring?

Man, I saw the work a tech had to do to replace a front signal socket that went bad and I'm glad I didn't have to do it. Your best bet would be to call the dealer and ask what's involved in making the fix and let them explain it to you!
Good luck,
Dog

I already phoned them:

"I'm not sure, you'll have to track the wires down. If it looks hard, just bring it in and we'll get it fixed for you."

I appreciate your input, guys, but what I'd REALLY like is input from anyone who'd replaced their turn signals with aftermarket units.

I'm judging from Rude Dog's comment that they ARE hard wired to the loom, and so that means I'll have to disconnect the lamps and housings, and flip them left-to-right.

Thanks!

if the dealer had the front end apart, sounds like they just got the front signal wires switched. I put on after market front and rear signals and you just disconnect at the unit and re-connect. With yours, if you still have the oem front signals, you just take the lense off, disconnect and switch the wires. but, becareful, the oem's are plastic and you can break the little tips that hold the lens on farily easily.
