OK - I got my cable for TuneECU last week and I couldn't get it to talk to the ECU. So I checked cables connection, turned the ignition on and off more times than I care to mention. Erased USB drivers and re-installed from scratched. Tried running in compatibility mode. I tried everything, and got nothing. The efforts have taken 4 days of my life.
I cant believe I'm posting this.
So as a last ditch effort I thought I would connect if the engine was running.
Here it comes.....
So I flicked the kill switch....... and the program came to life.
Every time I stop the engine I use the kill switch and then ignition off. Don't know why, but I have always done that.
So - for all new users of TuneECU - when you connect your computer to the bike, make sure the kill switch is off before turning the ignition on!
Great program though. I have already pushed a new stock map to the engine and cleared the crap that was in the ECU. After doing this it stopped a tapping noise from the engine at idle, and has given me smoother power. Now the fun begins
