So I am trying to help someone who has a Power Commander on their Rocket right now. He wants to add the Ramair. He wants me to up load a new tune via Tune ECU and ditch the PCIII. So what I was thinking is uploading the new tune and leaving the Power Commander in place, then when he gets the Ramair installed he can just remove the PCIII. Since the power commander piggy backs the ecu his bike should still run fine even with a new tune. He doesn't live near me and that's why I want to add the new tune before the Ramair install. Is my theory correct?
Not knowing what type of bike he has touring verses standard verses roadster it would be hard to guess. Personally he should load what every tune he is going to and if has not been done on a dyno it would be hit and miss. even if it is done on a dyno say on the other side of the world it will be hit and miss as to how well it would be fore his bike. He could always run a zero map on the PCIII and then get it tweaked on a dyno which probably will not be someone who wants to mess or knows tune ecu therefore he will have Power commander unit already in place so the operator could tweak it in.
So I guess what I am going with is that currently the Power Commander has the correct map for his current setup. Once the Ramair is added he wants the Tune ECU map that Hanso is using, (which should be correct) and ditch the PCIII. This is his choice but all I really want to know is if I can load the Hanso tune now, still use the PCIII until the Ramair is installed and then he can remove the PCIII and let the ECU take over.
