I got an email from Triumph to sign up for updates for the T-bird. They also had a link to customize it too for pre-order. I signed up but didn't do the pre-order; I can do that later. They also asked what you would configure the bike for i.e. touring, cruising, and what not.

Big,

I also got one of those and signed up for future info on the T-bird to be emailed to me.

Some how I can't see anyone signing up to pre-order without seeing any firm prices!?!

At the risk of sounding Anti-Triumph, my advice is to not pre-order.

When the Daytona675 was released, and the RocketIII before that, I used to moderate many bad experiences posted both here and during my former life on TriumphRat.Net. Some of the complaints were at the fault of the buyer, while others could be traced to issues with the manufacturer or the dealer.

Regardless of the reason, 100% of the posts reflected a buyer's remorse and negativity towards either Triumph or the respective Dealer.

Purchase a motorcycle with your heart; but do it when you can sit on it and pay a price that you can live with. Notice that I don't necessarily include a requirement to test-ride, but take advantage if it is possible.

...Especially in the current market. Paying list would be tantamount to committing suicide.

Got one of them T-bird posts too. Probablly everybody who is a member of R.A.T. or at least those of us who are geared towards bigger bikes. I didn't order mine yet either. If you wanna see some real cool shots, colors, and accessories, log onto www.thunderbird1600.com and look at the pics. I even joined up.:):)

If the bags are removable and the windscreen can be swapped out with a fly screen and back, this bike atleast has my attention.. :) I mean, I do have a Thunderbird tatoo on my left shoulder..

I got an invite also. However, currently I can't even ride my current ride much less think about getting a new one. The Thunderbird may be a nice addition to the Triumph family but I just cant' go back to anything below 1800 cc's.
But I can dream about riding my current ride, so I guess I'll go to bed (it's 7 pm or so over here) the beginning of March seems so far away.

Other than five rocket attacks around here in the last two weeks, it's been pretty quiet.

Keep riding safe.

Dennis,

Good to see you are still frequenting the forum

Heres hoping things remain quiet for you and you are able to partake in a couple of libations on Thanksgiving and your birthday next weekend.

Stay safe

Tony

Dealer invoice for a Rocket III standard

...Especially in the current market. Paying list would be tantamount to committing suicide.

Speaking of list .... does anyone have a feel for how much the dealer invoice is for a Standard Rocket ?

I had a bad encounter with a tornado two weeks ago that probably totaled my Rocket.

If it is totaled, I'll get another but really need to keep the price at rock bottom.

I'm loyal to the dealer; Deserving or not, they're the only option in range so I play nice as much as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Those numbers have been hard to come by. But since the economy has tanked and can barely get out of the gate as of late you should be able to score onre for around $13000.00 Check the net for out the door prices and compare. I bet the dealer will come close to if not beat those prices. a little wheel and deal will keep them on their toes.:D
