Triumph alarm fitting

I want to buy an alarm for my R3 trike as at the moment I am required by my insurance company to lock up the bike with a padlock and chain every time I park. This is a just a pain and is rarely done.

So I am thinking of buying the Triumph alarm but I have been told it is rather difficult to fit, has anyone fitted the unit themselves - does it have to be fitted by Triumph before the insurance gives a discount?

Any info would be apprieciated
