I recently installed a set of TORS on my 06 Rocket Classic, but have not had time to get by the dealer to have the TORS tune installed. As well, I am contemplating buying a PCIII, and do not want to waste the $75 map expense if I will purchase the PCIII in the near future.

I am taking a short road trip next week...total of about 600 miles roundtrip. Here's the question...without installing the new map first, am I in any danger of harming the bike due to the supposed leaner TORS configuration? The bike is running fine, minimal decel popping, etc.

Thoughts or feedback?

I Ran an R3T for a very short time without remapping when I went to TORS and an underseat K&N air filter. I also knew I was only going on short rides with no highway drones at speed. It did not seem to hurt the bike. THat being said, there is a reason why there is another fuel map for those pipes. I would not recommend going on a trip without remapping to the proper map. You will also have peace of mind.

Your dealer charges $75 to remap the bike? On your bike, it is quite simple to remap and only takes 5 minutes to pull the seat, pull the fuse, connect the gameboy and start the download. Then it is a matter of how long it takes to actually download the tune. Worse case. total time should not be any longer then 30 minutes. Seems a bit unreasonable to me.

Just my 2 cents...

I thought the $75 was a bit steep as well, but I called all three Triumph dealers within my driving range and all quoted me the same price...

Question...so the port the tech plugs into to download the map is under the seat? I was thinking it was under the tank...but under the seat would be perfect since I would have to remove my fairing and speakers if the tank had to be raised (one of the reasons I have not made it to the dealer yet...).
Thanks.

I will be getting my TORs exhaust sometime at the end of the month (so they say because they're on back order) for my 2010 Roadster. I will use TuneECU to change the tune for the exhaust. Just have not made my mind up on which tune to use. I will be watching this thread.
