TORS and that big box under the bike

What is the big box type thing under the big.. I thought it was a cat but now I am reading its not... Is there something to delete it when using TORS??? Can I use automotive muffler pipe and build my own delete pipe? Anyone do this? How loud will the bike be with just TORS and that box still on? How about removed?

How much do you think is a good price for a used TORS system???

There is nothing in that box. The TORS do not effect that box. On the R3T the cats are in the muffler housings. With TORS (or D&D's, Staintunes etc) you eliminate the cats. There is no reason to remove that box, it doesn't have any real effect.

If you choose to go with a full system like Jardine, the box is eliminated.

usually about half the original price.

If you got a standard or classic I've got a set,
also got a cat delete pipe.
could you make your own?
sure I don't see why not.
if you decide to go that route, post pics
cause you might as well build your own exhaust system
and we like pics..

This is the Touring Forum Skip, he has an R3T. There is no cat delete for the R3T as the cats are contained within the muffler housings.

Yeah, if you don't watch the forum listing up top its not really obvious sometimes which model someone is referring to, especially if they don't explicitly tell you.

Before people actually started swapping the R3T exhausts I don't think anyone knew that box wasn't the cat. I know I was surprised when I took it off and found it was empty.
