rocket touring
I have been reading about different top boxes on the touring model. I am in the process of fitting a honda goldwing GL 1100 top box to my rocket, I think its a 1981 model top box.
I have fitted the box to the bike but have now removed it for painting, the box fits the bike well and I have tried to attach photos to this thread, but my tablet wont let me for some reason, any suggestions on how to attach photos and I will try and post again.

I found a free app called dropbox. I send copies of my photos to dropbox and I have no problem using the paperclip attachment to upload from dropbox. I also found that if I do not put a message into the body of the email first, I can not upload from any source.

Try putting a message into the body of the email first, then try to upload your photo.

Well its all done, sanded, sprayed and fitted. like I said before it fits the bike well, and for the money its cost me i think its top banana. I wanted a box that fits 2 helmets and doesn't restrict my side panniers. I think its a good alternative if anyone is considering a top box. I have done a few photo's for you to have a butchers at. Man I'll got to be honest when I saw the first picture.

But after completion, WOW came out nice. ;)

I love to see low cost modifications.

Hi tfcrocketman3.
Thanks for the comment on the top box. I got the box the box of ebay , the going price is about 20 quid, the paint and prep another 30 quid, and a bit of time refurbishing it . The reason I didnt buy the harley top box is because a secondhand box was to expensive and I didnt want the comment you should have bought a harley, this box has been out of production for over 25 years so not many people now what its off. This weekend I was out on the bike and another triumph owner asked me for the number or web site of the manufacturer. He thougt it was for a triumph . Anyway good luck its the goldwing gl 1100.;)

I went with the Tsuyaku trunk

I went with the Tsuyaku trunk.

The lines seem to match the saddle bags better.

In fact with the Hoppe Industies fairing, the "full dresser" looks like it came from the factory that way.

Good call on the Goldwing trunk. I went with the biggest box I knew of. The Harley Leather King Tour Pak. Yep, paid too much on ebay, but figured leather went with any color if I get a newer bike later. I wanted something that matched the size of this beast. Also, my wife loves the wrap around padding to hold her in.
