pick a number between 2,500 and 12,000. Thats the estimated mileage on a stock OEM metz tire.
We all ride different and in different conditions.
Your tire, your call.
Wish I could be of more help, but I've heard mileage ranges all over the board between those two numbers.
When YOU think its time, it probablly is.
Good luck and ride safe.

Take the rear wheel in and save upwards to 50%. 20$ is cheap and a good source to stay with. If you go to dyna beads for balancing you might save a tad more on the install. They won't need to add more time and weights. I put 4oz in my darkside Cooper and I see that is enough for an OEM rear as well.
Lifting and removing the rear tire is a snap if you approach with help at hand. I use a bike lift and a floor jack and get it done in a snap. Plus I get a handle on how the dealers can justify the additional 50%. They can't! It's that easy. Removing the tire from the rim has taken most to using a hack saw to cut the carcass off. I used a Dremel high speed cutter. For someone not inclined to go through the works...65-80 to mount it, with them doing it all.
