I used to do my own tire changes. Did many many many myself. It can be easy but mostly has become difficult since most of my bikes have been cast wheel tubeless tires. I prefer to take my wheels off the bike myself and then take the wheels to the shop and let them do it. Mount and balance is worth the fee. We only have to pay $12 a wheel for mount/balance if we buy the tire from them and $20 if we just want a mount/balance with an outside tire. Kind of a no brainer at those prices.

I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm fed up getting screwed.
I need the NEXT best option.

$35 ain't bad in my book.
I pay that for a front and $50 for a rear and feel it WELL worth the effort it save my ass!

Look around on the internet. I almost bought one from a shop that was closing down until the tech refused to mount my rear tire because it was broken, but would have been a good deal...still looking for one
