Forget it Macrider, you will not educate the uneducatable the difference is that they talk from opinion based on imagination where as you, myself and anybody Who has actually tried one are talking from fact granted there are a couple who didn't like it but at least They did try it, I respect them for that as long as they don't try and intimidate others to their opinion, the Darkside is not for everyone especially not for those that can't think outside the square.
As for the police booking them for being unroadworthy I have been pulled over a couple of times now and while they amazed at the size of the tire there was never any suggestion of being unroadworthy even after I told them it was a hi performance car tyre, if anything they wereintriguedd at how they haveenought flex to keep so much rubber on the road, I even had a couple of Highway patrol officers come over to me in a servo while I was having a break and asked me how it handled and they were telling me how in their training they were taught about how much a modern Hi performance car tyre can be pushed because of the flex built in to them. I would suggest that those that were slapped with a unroadworthy areprobablyy Patch guys (cops just love patch guys) orSmart-arsess horsing around
So in short do as I do Ignore the nah Sayers as half of them are only basing theircommentss on here say and imaginary opinions
I run double dark on my Vision Tour. As far as handling, I don't have any issues at all. It's not that I prefer one set up over another, it's just a whole lot cheaper and less inconvenience to change tires every 30K miles. With that said, I have no intentions of going dark on my Roadster. I love the look of that fat bike tire and I probably won't put more than 3-4K a year on a 2nd bike so I'll just watch for deals and replace it every year during the off season. I'll have to blow the dust off of an old Harbor Freight bike tire changer that hasn't seen any action in over ten years!
I can't believe that the BIG question hasn't been asked......
What COLOR tire (black, red, yellow, or silver) is the fastest? I'm sure there is a chart on this somewhere

I ran a car tire on my Valk for a good 40k. I tried one on the Rocket but she didn't like it. I got used to it ok, but on the highway I had a wobble at about 60 and on up that got worse when I was following large trucks. It didnt settle back down until I got around them. It didnt scare me any but I just didn't like it. Air pressure made no difference. I'm back to running a 200 rear now.
Triick
You need to learn to do your own tire changes. Theres lots of YouTube videos on how to do it, easy ,peasy.
Balancing is not a problem, 3 ounces of Dynabeads and the tires run smooth as silk.
What bothers me is how some guys say that car tires are bad and no good when they have never even tried it?
How can they make a comment when they have not experienced it?
They are talking out of thier asses when they say that.
Its always the guys that saw someone else with a car tire and based their negative opinions on what they saw.
Do me a favour and DO NOT comment on what you saw, but if you have used a car tire on your bike then please go ahead and comment.
Feedback from experienced Darksiders is always welcome.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion here based on experience or not. I respect your opinion but i dont agree with it . Dont give a **** what anyone thinks of my opinion as their thoughts dont make me any less entitled so everyone do me a favour and comment till your heart is content pro or con and ill decide for myself what i choose to take or leave from the content .
Unless you have approval by the manufacturer of the bike to run the car tyre on the bike plus approval from the authorized vechile standard and modification. This means only an authorized person can approve the change.sorry these are the facts in Queensland .
