I've been on the Dragon at least 10 times, and I always at least once on each ride see someone riding beyond their ability.

There is the real culprit to what happened...target fixation was secondary.

The old saying in regard to taking corners on a motorcycle, car or truck is "Look around the curve not at what you will crash into half way around" this often happens when a vehicle is in a skid the driver looks where he is heading in the skid rather than where he wants to go ,approaching headlights at night can also result in target fixation accidents

It helps to stay on your side of the road, it makes you think how long have some of these doods have been riding???

Roads like the Dragon bring out the worst in riders. A lot of them that never ride particularly hard seem to see the red mist and ride beyond their skill levels. Some get away with it and some are in the wrong place at the wrong time and this is the result.
