So painful to hear how cheap bikes are there compared to here. 3 years ago paid AU $18,000 for a 2006 classic, had staintunes, screen and bits and pieces but still.....
mine was a little over has not caused any problems, If so the dollar store has a restaurant style plastic catchup bottle and a piece of vacuum hose to suck some out have used this type to change grease in rear ends easier than tearing down to drain the grease
Just bought a 2008 touring with 10,180 miles on in. Trading in my 2006 Harley Fatboy Firefighter Special (40K miles) and $3K for it. Sorry to say, but Triumphs don't seem to hold there value.
Not saying they're all the rage on the used bike market; but what's often overlooked is the fact I rode my rocket and street triple off the showroom floor combined for less than you probably paid for the fat boy One of the best things about triumph is you don't have to mortgage your house to buy one (at least here in the states). I'll take the 50% loss in value over 8 years on my rocket considering what I paid for it and the fun it's brought me
It sounds like your Harley didn't hold its value too well either @Cherokee if you upgraded two years and dropped to 25% of your miles for $3k. How much was the HD when new, compared to the triumph?

well I only paid $10K for the Fatboy . It had 5k mikes on it and the guy was desperate to sell. But yeah, Harleys are generally stupid expensive. Looked at a brand new Ultra Classic before I found the Rocket. 28k!!!
@Cherokee sounds like you got a great deal on both bikes glad you found your way to the rocket too! Yep, it's those crazy $24-35k price tags I was referring too I won't argue the sportsters seem to have the best resale of any bike out there, but bike for the money, my rocket cost me what a new sportster would've and I don't have to worry about resale because I got a keeper
