The times they are a’changin...

It surprises me that the motorcycle manufacturers do not see the value of a "halo" bike, like the Corvette for Chevrolet, the Viper for Dodge, the Shelby Cobra for Ford, etc. The Rocket could be that bike for Triumph if it were marketed properly. They were going to go for a world speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats, but couldn't because they were too rough due to lack of rain.

That would be funny if they set a new land speed record with an engine that no longer in production!!

Yep and on that same schedule of his 1920 Indian Scout and his 1967 record, the 2004 Rocket engine may be ready for a world record in 2051. Probably for the new hip RICE (Retro Internal Combustion Engine) class of the day, celebrating the old RICE burners from the DAD (dinoflagellate and diatom) era. ;):D
