The Polish rebuild

Finally two days ago the machine finally touched the tarmac. 200kms since then. I am so so happy.
Still missing the rad side covers that need to be painted black, engine crash bars /to be delivered/ but it runs beautifully and gives plenty of joy after all this work.

ONE gripe I have is that the outlet of the Remus can is a liitle bit sooty - cant tell how it was with the original silencer and too soon to tell what is the fuel consumption but from this soot in there I can tell the bike is running a tad rich. I have the TuneEcu and could possibly use a different map but the question is which tune would be best. The can is not straight through and is only a bit louder than the original system. Idles almost like the generic exhaust.

Wanted to fit the batwing but I am not happy with how it looks on the bike and will be selling it. Painted. Will fit a small flyscreen onto the mounts you see in the picture.

The new tyres really transformed the handling /and my account/ and the bike sure feels planted and I feel more secure.

Nice work. Paint looks good to me. What tune do you have installed and how was it modified ? We can help.

I see the recommended maps for my bike are 20219 and 20221 - just to remind, this is an early plain Jane classic of 2006 vintage. I hated the looks and the weight of the original system but have no craving after more power etc. Leaving the lambda, original intake tract and the throttle bodies. I just can’t be bothered. The bike fxxxking flies. Yesterday I did a couple of full throttle runs up to 6krpm in 4th gear as I noticed ever so slightly clutch slip - turned out I left the play in the lever too low. Must admit this adjustment is a bit tricky. Anyway - readjusted until there was no slip… but omg. This bike should not be legal ;)
Also noticed there is a very slight rpm drop in idle when I arrive to a stop. They drop below let’s say comfortable for a moment and then readjust. Just something to have an eye on as I know there were issues with the stepper and the TPS adjustment. As long as it regulates I am all good.

For the tune - I will run 200ks and check the economy and then decide.
I could go the rich route as it makes the bike run cooler however the blowby WILL spoil the oil sooner. Question is if ONE of the injectors is not pissing fuel instead of spraying. I will use 1-2 bottles of injector cleaner with fuel and see if it gets any better. Also will observe the engine temperature but don’t think this is the thermostat.

Went through the thread to remind myself what map I had in done by the previous owner :) and it is 20222.

Nice

For those in the know these are the numbers from my ecu. The throttle sync is a bit off. Anything that’s not too well in your opinion?
It was pretty hot today but when the fan kicked in at about 100 degrees it just kept running and the temp stayed at 102C not going up and not going down at idle. Not so good me thinks :/

What’s the normal running temp about 160 F* ?
That 102 c is about 212 F seems a touch hot not knowing the normal running temp makes it a tough guess. Happy motoring for sure .
