Sounds like I have a TDU bearing making a lot of noise. Called most of the dealers in the S.E. and none of them said they have ever heard of one going bad.

Called Baxters in Iowa and they said they have replace quite a few along with the entire upgrade kit. Asked them if Triumph may cover it even being almost two years out of warranty. They said Triumph would no longer cover it out of warranty. Has anyone had the upgrade kit installed lately? Has anyone had one installed anywhere in the South East? Sounds like Baxters would be the best place to take but it is 955 miles away.

The bearing isn't that bad expensive but you have to split the engine that's the problem had mine done but it was under warranty mine is a 07

You might want to give Ultimate Motorsports in Knoxville, Tn. a call. They have done work for me and seem to be very competent and reliable. And Knoxville is a lot closer than Iowa.

Torsional damper unit shaft bearing. I talked with allsport in Decatur,Al. this morning and they said they have been through several Rocket transmissions so I dropped it off with them this afternoon. They were extremely busy today so they would not have a chance to look at till next week so I hope all goes well.

My Rocket is warrantied until Dec. of this year. Should I request all upgrades on my next visit?

Think I have the same problem with my 2004 Rocket, a grinding noise, after only 20000 miles...

Yes, bearing installed wrong way round so no lubrication, still lasted 20000 miles, but takes a lot of work to replace new bearing, will sell as soon it is fixed , can't trust anything that leaves the Triumph factory...
