I need to fit a eastern beaver kit so how do i remove the tank on my 2010 roadster and is there anything i should be looking out for ?

thanks in advance

..well, according to the eastern beaver install page.. Installation.. you probably just need to raise the tank instead of taking it off..starting at the headlight end first, because ya need to access the battery area last..I say this because when I do take my tank completely (almost) loose, except for the gas lines..I just remove the two bolts holding it on, and turn the tank sideways and set it on the frame where the seat goes..but ya need to be able to access this part of the bike for your install..

There is nothing to it really. Just when you take the line loose have a towel between the bike and tank to catch the gas residue. Unconnect the gas gauge sending unit wire. Remove bolt and then remove tank. When you have the tank free from the bike prop it up against a wall at about the same angle as the tank is when it is on the prop rod and still on the bike. This keeps the gas from coming out. I place a towel on the floor to keep from scratching the tank. Gas isn't going to fly out everywhere and all that so don't be worried. I've removed my tank numerous times adding and adjusting things. I find it easier to work on the bike with it completely removed. Good luck.

iirc there is an OFFICIAL TRIUMPH FREE UPGRADE WIRING KIT FOR 2010 ROADSTERS - Basically an EB kit.

Yep.... took mine in a while back. No one really couldn't answer my question so I just let it go. "Does the recall from Triumph which adds a relay the same thing as the EB kit basically? Or do I still need to maybe add the EB kit?"

so i gather thereis 2 bolts at the front of the tank
is there any pics of this process , thanks for the replies :)

Oh I'm sorry .... Yeah you have to remove the bear claw. One bolt is located near the radiator on the bear claw. The other is located right at the pointed part of the bear claw towards the rear of the bike. 10mm bolts. Remove the seat. Then remove the bolt that is between the tank and forks with an a allen wrench. After that there is a prop rod that is under the gas tank on the right side of the bike. It has plastic snap clips that holds it in place under there. Remove the prop rod and have it ready. While standing on the left side of the bike grab the front of the tank and lift up. Have the handle bars straight because you want the little tab holder on the tank to go between each gauge as you raise it up. If you feel uncomfortable about this part remove the gauges, wrap them in a towel and locate them out of the way. When I first removed the tank I removed mine but noticed that I really didn't have to remove them. I don't know if there is any pictures available on line but I never used any.

afaik it's a relay that takes the headlamp current off the ignition switch - basically what the EB kit does.

But as my bike is pre-roadster so I have my own home grown setup with a separate fuse box & relays etc all hidden in the filter box under the seat. Great thing is it allowed me a switch to switch the headlights off if I want.

Now you wouldn't be trying to avoid the police now would you?

i have the eb kit and don't know if the recall was done or not but just want to fix the lights next will be new lenses to change the spread of the light , i bought some from ebay but are too deep so i will need to do better research for the next ones lol
