gday gents, i want to do the starter upgrade does any one know where i can get one in oz, type and part no. would be great. thanks
 
hey zim, i'm having cold start problems, i put a thicker earth cable on and that helped a bit and i was going to do the positive lead but you have to take the mufflers and cat box off just to get at it, so i thought i would get the 1.4 kw starter while i'm at it,the bike has been starting fine until we had this cold spell lately. cheers
 
Might be your battery rather than the starter if it is only due to being cold.
 
here in the states it is part number 17610 from Advance Auto parts...dunno bout down under..from a Toyota Solara I believe..2.2 engine..

battery is just on 1 year old and i keep it on a tender, once started it cranks over fine, it's just that first start on cold mornings, plus my tin garage is like a bloody freezer.
