Ok, Ive ordered the 1.4 starter. Should be here next week. If I knew the exact length and gauge size of the cables, and what types of end connections to use, I'd get them fabricated today. Dont want to tear it apart yet, want to ride over weekend. Thanks for your alls help on this. Hope it works out.

If I remember, when I installed the 1.4 starter, you had to switch the gear or faceplate or something off the old starter. Been a while, but I remember it being self evident.

Im putting back on slightly larger cables. Will let you all know how it works. $80 vs $800 for the starter itself a substantial difference. Ill still get the stock one rebuilt if I can find the kit.

Heifer is going again with the new $80 1.4 starter. Sounds a bit different on startup, in a good, beefier way (pardon the pun). Found radiator hose weeping a bit too. Put 4 gauge cables on, so it has plenty of electrickery feeding it now. Thanks to all. Cant seem to find the rebuild kit for the old Denso Triumph unit, if anyone has a link to provide.
