Squeaky Brakes on Rocket 3 R Storm – Anyone Else?

Many people make a mistake to re-bed the brakes when they are cold. I'd recommend dragging the brakes for a bit, like a minute, to heat them up before short stopping.

You can always try different brake pads and see if the sound changes. If the noise isn't affected by pad material it's proabably not the brakes. The sound goes away with the clutch pulled (no load condition) and when you apply throttle (I assume in gear, loaded condition) so the noise only occurs under engine braking?

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I agree — the brake squeal is one thing (still there, I’ll live with it for now), but this new sound seems unrelated.

It happens only when the engine is fully warm, a gear is engaged, and I fully close the throttle — during engine braking. From what I can tell, the sound is coming from the front-right area, below the exhaust headers. It’s a kind of metallic ticking or light mechanical chatter — hard to describe exactly, but definitely not normal.

It goes away immediately if I either pull the clutch or open the throttle — so it’s only present under engine braking, as you said.

I also noticed similar sound can be heard at idle, in neutral, when I blip the throttle — same kind of metallic noise as the revs rise.

I'll definitely have it checked at the dealer — it’s quite annoying during normal riding.
