Just wanted to say thanks to Hanso for setting me straight on clutch cable adjustments and Mitch for the pic on lever and splined shaft alignment , things i have learnt

It shouldn't be that hard, once you get the lever into proper position. Leave the cable loose up top at the handle, then move the nut on the lower cable adjuster as far up as it goes and attach the cable to the lever and put it in the retainer above the lever. Then connect the handle, do gross adjustment with the nut in the lower adjuster and do the final tweaks with the upper adjuster. Barring issues with your clutch itself, it's pretty easy as long as you always disconnect up top at first and attach up top last.
I've had reason to un/re install the clutch cable more than I'd like since Barnett got the length wrong the first time I ordered, and still have the final (for this round) job to do now that I got the right length...

Croft, while it is a easy job and comes natural for some of us And basically the (bold in your post quote) is what I explained to Wrecka, But I take my hat off to him for at least having a go himselfand he now knows he has support from his fellow Rocket Mates if he decides to tackle other maintenance, he can check with us here for tips-n-tricks

Absolutely, just wanted to point out that as long as there is enough slack to work with it's not a tough operation and shouldn't require any real force, just figured Wrecka was possibly trying to mount it below when it was already mounted up top which is not going to fly, always need to do any mounting and adjusting down by the engine first and the last step is hooking up the grip (with maximum slack in the cable at the lower end to make that possible). I did some cursing of my own the first time I was replacing it, had been a decade or more since I last did any cable work.
