My 2005 Classic? Has an issue with the speedo, the other day I rode out and it was reading 20mph over all the time, when I stopped and then restarted the bike it had corrected itself and operated normally for about 100 miles. I started the bike yesterday and the speedo did not work at all, and the pre-start checks when the ignition was turned on all seemed to be out of sequence.
Any suggestions????

Your Speedo might be going to fail and sorry there is no fix except replace. That being said I would chase down the plug connectors under the tank and clean them to make sure they are getting good contact. I am not sure if the speedo runs thru the ignition switch or if you have done the relay mod to save the ignition switch. After you clean the connectors run the speedo test with the software to see if it might point to a error. Like I said most end up replacing them as they fail with used ones as the new ones would be costly.

Do you know if it is an easy swap to fit the touring fuel tank and instruments, the tank might take some finding, but the instruments seem to be readily available and nothing like the cost of the classic/roadster ones?

Not sure if it would fit. The back half of frame is different, not sure about front part. I think they also use different ECUs.

You having speedo issues?
