Not to worried about clear lenses 90% of new cars and bikes have them. Was with Peck when he got hassled for a clear tail light lense on his Harley 2 or 3 years ago but when he showed the cop that it was red when illuminated all was good.

Bruce, I do remember that one time you got a picture round the right way. If you use your phone to take pics, turn it sideways to the left rather than holding it vertically. Works for me.

We do get people come in needing amber lenses because some twat at the RTA has knocked their clear lenses back on rego. Bloody stupid that; I really don't get it. Plenty of cars and bikes come out with clear and smoked lenses as standard these days but apparently if it's not original you can get knocked back. One bloke had put later model smoked lenses on his WR450 but had to change them back to the amber ones his year (only one earlier) came out with.

I should say that I recall some law/reg about sticking anything on your number plate so you still might get grief over that tape.

I got stickered once because the rear reflectors weren't red enough (in 1996 on a '94 VR ute)....though I had just done a donut around an unmarked cop car so the work order was the least of my concerns.

Just checked for a reflector on my 2011 R3T no luck but the tail light lens (stock) is a reflector when the light is not on maybe this is Ok at least that's the argument I will use if I get picked by Mr Plod,I have seen stick on reflectors on R3T panniers but they look ordinary.

that must be why my fuel economy dropped not because i ride harder but because something might been stuck in my muffler
( now why was i getting roast chicken smell when ever i sopped)

I checked I didn't have a reflector either, thanks never noticed I thought the tail light lens was a reflector, No it's not, went to Autobarn $4.20 two red reflector's the size of the edge of a matchbox self adhesive as well plonked them on the back of each pannier ,job done! one less reason for harassment!
