I had my own custom racks fabricate as I didn’t like the factory ones.

I have the stock bags (I'd check out the C-Bow bags from Hepco and Becker for better options). The backrest helps with securing items and the rear rack (for tie down points).

I run straps under the seat to help secure items. For smaller runs just something like these across the load and for larger items runing from the backrest or rear rack to a set of straps with carbiners under the seat. I camp regularly with this setup.

Someone on here mounted the newer H-D Heritage bags with C-Bows and it looks much better than the factory soft offering.
@ExtremeAntics how about selling those? Makes me wonder if the LaMonster rack would fit on your base.
