Because he did'nt indent the front of the board like on the source board he would have restricted front steering, but could use the fouling of the front wheels on the board to act as a brake
 
hack saws dont look like they will harm much.
This is my left thumb after cutting electrical conduit - cut half way through my thumb

Man oh man, I bet it is hard to stitch a finger nail like that...
They put one stitch in it at the end of my thumb but the local anaesthetic took too long to work so I told them to stitch it anyway - that hurt
 
Super Glue, that's no joke, it works very well for stuff like this.
It should - its initial purpose was as SCALP GLUE in front line ORś.

Oh yes - do not sharpen your workshop scissors with diamond 1200 grit and then test the edge with your thumb. It hurts. But it´s a neat cut.
