skewed fork

after minor bump on the front wheel fork got skewed out of place...you guys recomended releasing the tighteners pulling the fork out...etc.
so, after removing the fork how do i make sure the triple tree are aligned with each other (top and bottom) and after aligning the triple tree sliding the fork into place how do i make sure that the fork is in equal height on both side . if someone can add pics with explanation will be appreciated....does anyone here have the service manual on a pdf file?
