Single K&N vs 3 K&N filters

At first I didnt see how the washers would help but then I realized you said the mount itself. Good thinking. I might need a few since it has to come out about an inch to not be touching the filter. Thanks again.
you only need to use a couple (1/4 inch max) if you put the number three filter on loosely slowly put claw on whilst watching where first point of contact then twist filter repeat till you get the best fit, from memory it was slant about 20degrees forward at top while the filters 1 and 2 were slanted about 10 degrees back, I am going from memory as I now run the K&N RX 4040's, if you do a search ot installing the triples there should be some pictures

I tried the filters turned in a bunch of different positions and even with them pushed all the way down on the flange the mount was still about an inch away from fitting.
Wish I still had my welder and pipe benders, would save me a ton on new headers and y pipe.

Ok, just seemed like the one filter had a bunch of pressure from the bear claw. After looking at all the stuff that would need to be relocated the box under the seat is staying. Thanks

just turn the filters on a 45 degree angle it will fit fine . ill see if i have a pic

Stock exhaust system has two cats, one in each muffler, the cross over/cat box is just a resonator with no cat.
...
Adding the 3 k&n now.
The crossover is not the cat??. I replaced the crossover with a staintune one
So when i add the tuneboy program, will i use one with or without cats?
I did not know the pipes had cats in them.
Confusion is set in
Thank's

If your Roadster came with standard exhaust then the cats are located inside each muffler. If the bike came with TORS exhaust then there is no cats at all. Looking at the end of the muffler where the exhaust comes out .... standard mufflers have a 1.25" outlet while the TORS mufflers have a 2" outlet. This isn't exact measurements but gives something to go by on what to look for. Another way is that the standard mufflers with cats will get extremely hot while the TORS will not. If the mufflers seem to be very hot after shut down then those are standard mufflers.
