If you go longer your handling is affected, (same for shorter too only different). The difference is that with longer shocks the bike turns faster (quicker turn-in), shorter the bike turns slower (i.e. give me 40 acres and I'll get this beast turned around). It has to do with the fork trail, which has little to do with the tire unless the tire's aspect ratio changes trail. If you just want to keep the tire from rubbing the paint off the underside of the fender, stick with the 225 and put on whatever size shock you want.

Depends on the model of Progressive you buy, generally I'd say no. Hagon and Fournales are rebuildable. I went with Hagon's for that reason. More money up front but cheaper to live with. Plus they size the spring rates based on your expected loading. That means you don't get over or under sprung for you load range.

They are brand new and supposed to be the dogs bollocks but not sure if they will fit l find mysself with 600$ + to spend that wifey does not know about so I feel obliged to splurge guilt free since her indoors is outdoors inBora Bora until Tuesday will have to get sent to freinds house as she thinks my farkellitis is cured
