Got it on day one, love it. Get it and you'll love it too. Agree it should've been standard. Slick as snot on a doorknob compared to the QS on the 2018 Ducati SuperSport S I had before the Rocket. It does need to be calibrated on installation and the dealer tool is needed. A few folk have had it improperly installed and it doesn't work properly.

You'll get the occasional lever warrior who didn't get it on their bike rambling about changing your own effing gears, but if you want to get max accel, your hands will never be as fast. And while a competent rider can clutchless upshift fairly quickly (but you still have to quickly back off/roll on for the change), manual rev matching on downshifts is a level of finesse that most don't get good enough to do well. That's why the QS tech started in race bikes, same reason they use sequential gearboxes in fast cars.

I initially optioned mine as I have osteoarthritis emerging in my hands, and constantly working the lever gets painful on a bad day, when all you want to do is enjoy the ride. Once I hit the twisties out of town, I rarely touch the clutch until I end up back in town. Pretty easy to get used to, and it's not like I ever forget to use the clutch to stop or start.

Just a question as I'm curious. I have the traction control off once in a while as I like to play on the backroads when no one is around. If you have a quick shifter with traction control off will the front end come up if your are aggressive speed shifting or will the tires just spin before they grab? Just curious. Cheers.

I don’t know, I’ve not done it yet! I have the Penner tune loaded and it’s fierce enough to feel the TC have a scrabble under hard acceleration, so I’ve been a bit wary of turning it off. But I suppose I should man up and see if I can lift it or paint a line… 😏

I must admit to being a little shy at times. Making a turn and accelerating onto the roadway can be an experience if you give it a little to much throttle and it's easy to do. I mostly keep it in Sport mode. I don't mind TC correcting my mistakes for me. The bad part of taking the TC off is you had better not forget you did it as you will be reminded by facing westbound in the eastbound lane with your eyes as wide a saucers thinking WTF just happened.

if you are lucky
i did it twice (not on the rocket) on my old 1959 bsa
almost on the rocket when downshifted to low to turn right and let out the clutch fast
i have noticed that the rocket shows no forgiveness for mistakes.
