Secondary's ....Huh ?

the GI-PRO supposedly choose the 3rd gear readings and supplied them to 1st 2nd.
however on mine the sec"s were only at a max of 70 % through all gears so it would have been useless to us it.

Just want to point out... I had same dyno runs with and without secondaries installed, I can say for a indisputably there is no gain by removing them on a stock motor, even one with pipes and intake, as it was also dynoed with and without them in.

Also, to further convolute things... look at old vs new maps and old vs new bone stock dynos. At about 60% open they’re flowing enough air to fulfill the air requirements of the stock cam already.

The real gain from GiPRO is the changes from the ECU gear selection being tricked to going to a table with more advance.

ok. Noob question time. What exactly do the secondaries do and why do people remove them? What are the reasons for keeping them installed? @Clavigner said there's no noticable difference with intake & exhaust changes on the dyno, so if there are no noticable differences why are they on the bike?

They’re there for a few reasons, the same reasons they’re present on the big bore sport bikes.

Smooth torque delivery at low RPM, control velocity of intake charge at low rpm, limit power at high rpm.

They’re an over-enginnered solution to a problem that doesn’t exist on the R3.
