got a new new 2013 roadster, (red stripes). Have been looking at a single tour seat with the adjustable backrest on ebay. Q does anyone know if this seat will fit the roadster or is it only for the tourer???????...Need a backrest......

and if it says it is for a Touring it is different and wont fit you Roadster, a lot of company's will call a seat a tour model eg Corbin makes a Dual Tour and make it for both the Touring and Others (Std/Classic and Roadster)

The touring seat can be retrofit to the Standard/Classic models but it requires some simple modifications to the seat and latch. If you are comfortable with simple fabrication, I can post some photos of how I did it.

I had modified my stock two-up Classic seat several times but could not make it comfortable. So I purchased a single touring seat from a member here hoping to be able to fit it to my Classic. After getting it to fit and latch with the Classic lock, just a change to the foam contour made it comfortable for my backside.

Of course this required me to build a separate passenger seat and mounting bracket for my wife which could be used with the solo seat. If you ride two-up, you will need to do this as well or slightly modify the stock double seat to re-use it and the solo seat interchangeably.

that's good to know it can be adapted for others, I was told there was a bit of difference in the mounting as well as length, I was looking at a second hander but I now have the proper one coming for my bike, unless you are a light weight (under 100kg) the Triumph seats are useless even the Gel seat gets uncomfortable as the pan (in all the triumph seats) has a hump just under your tailbone.
