Screeching noise applying brakes?

I noticed yesterday after completing about 180 miles of riding a mix of 50-50 Interstate and curvy country roads that when I slowed down going through the cities, I heard a "whirring or screeching" sound when I lightly applied the brakes---what's up? At a previous stop a few miles before I noticed the problem, I had forgot to insert my ear plugs so I wonder if I'm just hearing things that were there anyway.

The bike is a stock 2012 Roadster, with 7,800 miles on her, so I really don't think the pads are the problem???

I wondered if the ABS makes strange noises? The only bikes I've had with ABS other than my R3, were a BMW K1200LTC and an R1100GS and both had ABS minus any noise on braking.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Common with the factory pads on the R3R. Change them out the the EBC HH brake pads and the problem will go away.
