Had my dealer look (for the second time) at the rear area to detect a scrape..scrape..scraping sound as the rear wheel rolled,,but stopped when I pulled in the clutch..this problem along with the jolting Klunking noise at 2nd and 3rd gears after gear is engaged and under accelaration..they finally got word from Triumph that the factory installed bearing that has a seal on one side was put in backwards and does not get the proper oiling and slowly wears out..sometimes after warranty is expired..the shifting problem is more common and an easy fix per the mechanic.... should get the beast back in a week ready for my ride down the Pacific Coast Hwy.

Hey, when are you riding down the coast. I'm already here and would love to ride up a ways and meet for any excuse to get in a ride. I know a couple of others that might be up for a ride. Let us know your schedule.

This explanation does seem to be coming up more and more. Do you have any more info? Does Triumph have build dates or serial numbers of those affected? Would you share the year and total miles on your bike?

****, that was a lot of questions, wasn't it? Sorry. Any more information would be appreciated. Mine is well past warranty, and I can't imagine springing for cost of this repair should I need it...

Hey Dagored..looks like Turbofan in Yorba Linda might meet at the other end of the trip..I expect to leave early in the a.m. on Friday May 25..I'm in Lake County about 2 1/2 hrs. north of the bay area..my wife and I were originally going to go down Hwy 5 as a straight shot to just south of L.A. to make the best time then come back up the coast...maybe we could hook up somewhere along the way...

BCR,
Give me a shout if you want to meet for a late breakfast or lunch on the 25th when you're near Sacramento 8)

Hey Doc,
Give me a holler when you go and I'll tag along. Ever since Tom changed the bike nite we don't get together as much. Please send me an email when everything is firmed up.
All the Best,
Dog
