Say it ain't so Joey

Just watched John Macginnes notch up his 20th win and 41st podium at the Isle of Mann. He beat Mick Dunlop by 10 sec after 6 laps or 222 odd miles with Bruce Anstey the crazy Kiwi in 3rd. I think Mick Dunlop would be Joey's son?

His nephew I think mate. Been great I.O.M coverage this year. 6am every morning .. no better way to start your day than watching motorbike racing. Senior TT was great .. be Dunlop next year I reckon.

He's run his last race but the man only dies when people stop thinking and talking about him.

Any man who has 50,000 show to farewell him, after a life of being a legend will stay alive in spirit for generations.

True just look at John Wayne

Michael Dunlop is Joey Dunlops brother Robert's son. Robert won the TT 5 times and McGinnes needs 6 more TT wins to tie Joey Dunlop's record. MacGinnes is still young 41 he has a good shot at the record.

I was over on the island for 9 days taking in practice week. It really is an awesome sight watching these guys go around that circuit, especially when you have ridden the same roads just a few hours before with no speed limits & a one way system on the mountain. The Rocket may not be the most suitable bike for the job but "Bumble Bees" shouldn't fly either. There are some really good riders on the island who know how to ride that circuit & I had to back off on the bends, but coming out of them was sheer joy. I had just exited one bend on the mountain when I saw a bike coming up behind me, as he pulled along side I gave it some throttle & just pulled away from him, he couldn't keep up but I had to let him go on the next bend where he sure was faster than me. It was an amazing time & I would advise anyone to go over & try it at least once before you die, though if it's "mad Sunday" it could possibly be then.
