I just hooked up to have a look at which tune was loaded on my 05 R3. I bought the bike with 800 miles on it from the dealer, a demo. I know when I rode it the exhaust was not stock, and I had them put the stock pipes back on. (I'm old and I like to be quiet)
I'm now running D&D slip ons, cat box removed. I asked them when I got the pipes if I needed to retune, they said no, so OK. I didn't own the software then.
What I found is 20050 which I've been running for close to 20kmiles, so if damage is done it's too late to worry. I was a little surprised to find that all the sec are already set to 100%. I was really hoping for a jump in throttle response, but it's fine like it is.
I corrected my speedometer, already set for the 6%, added 2.3% more for the 225/50 tire I'm running.
I would appreciate the opinion of one of you accomplished tuners as to which tune I should run. I don't have any complaint with the way she runs but am concerned about the possibility of running too lean or too rich for that matter. I haven't pulled my plugs, they are due for a change soon. I'll know better when I see them. I'm thinking maybe I should go back to the base tune with open secondaries, might get better mileage.

Yeah I got a tuneboy. Had some doubts about my dealer, decided I needed to be able to tend to the bike without his assistance. Nearest dealer after him is over 250 miles away. I got the tuneboy just in case I needed to have a look at diagnostics. Got it in December. I travel a lot so I just got around to actually looking to see which tune was loaded. I didn't expect anything other than a stock tune. Maybe 20222. Anyway now I figure I'm probably running a little rich, don't think I've done any damage since I've put nearly 20k on the bike. If I was running to lean I figure I would have cooked some exhaust valves by now. Bike runs good. I haven't had any of the problems that I see people report on here.

Tuneboy returns the base tune (20222). The tune could still be something else.

No when I asked it to retrieve the ECU number it came back with 020050. I was wondering if I should load 20222 since I'm running a stock air filter.

20050 was an older version (I think the first) of the stock base tune. Your setup is like the tor/cat bypass. The tune on the Tuneboy site is 20050_2. This has more fuel than the stock tune and with the secondaries at 100%. Try this with an additional speedo correction for your tire.

I appreciate it. I did the speed correction and left everything else alone. Secondaries are at 100%. When I pull the plugs I'll decide if I need to run a leaner mix. I had noticed some soot at the tailpipes with stock pipes and I'd have to take it out to empty road to clear it out on occasion. Maybe the D&D setup is better suited to the tune that's in it.

Only thing I have for D&D's is with triple filters. Also make sure you copy the I4 map into I3 and I2. This will give full power in all gears. Don't change I1 it is for neutral.
