.020 Over
I just hooked up to have a look at which tune was loaded on my 05 R3. I bought the bike with 800 miles on it from the dealer, a demo. I know when I rode it the exhaust was not stock, and I had them put the stock pipes back on. (I'm old and I like to be quiet)
I'm now running D&D slip ons, cat box removed. I asked them when I got the pipes if I needed to retune, they said no, so OK. I didn't own the software then.
What I found is 20050 which I've been running for close to 20kmiles, so if damage is done it's too late to worry. I was a little surprised to find that all the sec are already set to 100%. I was really hoping for a jump in throttle response, but it's fine like it is.
I corrected my speedometer, already set for the 6%, added 2.3% more for the 225/50 tire I'm running.
I would appreciate the opinion of one of you accomplished tuners as to which tune I should run. I don't have any complaint with the way she runs but am concerned about the possibility of running too lean or too rich for that matter. I haven't pulled my plugs, they are due for a change soon. I'll know better when I see them. I'm thinking maybe I should go back to the base tune with open secondaries, might get better mileage.
