Rode a Victory Cross Country this afternoon...

Art are you really that thick????
I'll put it in simple terms, what jim is saying is that YOU are beating a dead horse, or in other words are repeating yourself bashing his Indian and I have to ask why ?? Jim puts more useful and entertaining input into the Forum than you ever have all you can do is belittle other peoples bike choices, so you'll probably bagg pout my choice of getting the Explorer. Jim has already stated that he will be keeping an eye out for another Rocket to compliment his Indian as I will also to compliment my Explorer, we are both STILL here because WE Love the Rockets and Love 99% of the peps on here, so do us all a favour and P1SS off

Thanks for the kind words Hans...

I am certainly not here to promote Indian motorcycles, in fact the only reason I still hang around is because of the friendships I made over my 9 years of being a member of this forum. Believe me I am well aware that this is a Triumph Rocket forum, and that I should expect a little ribbing from the members here for my choice of ride.

But what I am saying is that after owning several Harleys, Two Rockets, and after 1 year and 15000 miles on my Indian I am in a pretty good position to offer an educated opinion on the bike.

She ain't no Rocket, but she ain't no slouch either.
And in fact except for this god-awful rattle that come from the all plastic fairing that pisses me off on most occasions, she is all around a **** good motorcycle .

Whatever the OP decides to ride now or in the future, is his decision and I will support him either way.

And now I will leave you with these wise words ........

I don't want a pickle I just want to ride my motor sickle........

Peace

a little ribbing yes but that is not the first time he has outright bashed you and other members choices of alternative or second bikes, it is all a too repetitive and a bit like your cartoon depicted that he was "beating a dead horse" yet again.
I dont like Harley's but that is not say that I did not ride one for over two thousand miles while in the States in 2015, Lupe's little harley did a good job of hauling me for that part of the trip but I would never buy one and I certainly would not bash another member choice to have one in their stable

neither can compete with the mighty ROCKET

Art, that is the point here -- you make a sweeping, deterministic statement based on your self-centered view of the world -- everyone else be ****ed.

I used to be in Government contracting, and I assure you I could -- and people do -- manage requirements to make any competition come out with any given outcome.

And most folks find the Rocket too big (it isn't we all know, but we also know humans conquered the planet being mostly fearful of the unknown and avoiding it). So on that criterion alone, I could rant all day long about how one thing is bad, and another thing is so much better. But I don't. And we don't.

It gets tiresome. Didn't your mother ever tell you, "If you can't say something nice, don't?" I'm here to remind you, she did, and it's never too late to follow your mom's good advice.

Folks - this is distasteful to me. I've done a little "trimming" of this thread.

We love motorcycles, and different strokes for different folks are what we humans are all about.

Alas, there are constructive ways to say things, and destructive ways to say things, and this being a social site, constructive ways of saying things are strongly preferred.

Like Harry before me, I'm developing a growing intolerance for items blatantly off-topic. I'm not talking about clever non-sequiturs that some wield with such skill.

Please, we thank everyone for your wonderful participation.

We request that participation be in the form that other folks want to come back.
