After 2500 miles back and forth to ES for RAAIII I have the following observation. Rockets like to run. I slabbed on the way down and back averaging about 75 to 80 mph. I fired the FBG today to refuel before the daily grind starts again in the am and is she running good. She shifts better than ever and just feels like she is ready to do it all again. All of the carbon is gone she wants to take ass and kick names. I think she is going to disappointed on the 7 mile commute to work.

Britman I got some good shots of your FBG's rubber and can report you swayed my decision to go dark. Now traveling is full of delightful bliss knowing the middle of the tire is where I can live, not avoid. Now I can start fast and stop hard using the rear brake only. Life is good.;)

After Dave and I split up in Crocket Tx (the love bug capital) I opened her up between 80/90 mph as long as I could watch for Mr. Smokie, and your right, they do purr at those speeds. My FBG is spending the weekend at the shop getting her 20k check up. She will be 2 in Oct., so I'll have to plan a special birthday ride.

I spent part of the day yesterday and most of this afternoon washing those lovebugs off. And there are still plenty of them in nooks and crannies, I'm sure. I had to take the radiator guard off and scrub out the radiator because they had clogged the radiator on both sides of the front wheel!

As I posted earlier, I got to run behind a speeding cop from San Marcos to Seguin, TX. I got her up to about 130 to catch up and be within site of him and then slowed down to about 110 staying 150 yards or so back.. :) Most of the way, I ran between 80 and 90 and she cruised right along like all was right with the world.. :)

I washed mine as well, pretty good I thought, but it still looked kinda dirty when I was done. It may take a couple of washings. Glad you mentioned the radiator... I better look mine over when I get her back.

I have the 08 RT3 as well Daryl, on a run last Sunday with a large group of riders (most on sports bikes or HD's) had to open the 'big fella' up to catch up so to speak. Given there were a large number of bikes in front and obviously no gendarmes ahead it was absolutely brilliant two-up sitting steady on 160/165kph on open winding country roads for what seemed forever. Certainly beats commuting.

Regards Carey (Australia):D

I "work" out of my house, so no commute time. Still have young ones at home so I have to sneek out, between soccer, BB & VB to get some quality riding time.

RAAIII was my first good evaluation of how she likes to run over several tanks. Fell in with some HD's on the way home (left Sunday, I too will stay the duration with my hopeful return to RAA) and rolled 90-95 from St Joe to Omaha. I would say that the fast black model liked that speed.;)

I tend to be a little more conservative (+5mph) on speed, the chicken that I am.:p
