when we split from bad bruckenau I gave Nicke my leather tank helmet indeed to thank him for the invite in hungary and to leave a good lasting impression I am sure he will wear it whenever he goes to a bike party,
yes and you know what she got her lawyer, and an architect to show up at the house for the court appointed expertise so we have also called our lawyer and an architect as well to counter the old hag , man what a circus,,
anyway we will see what happens tomorrow; did you return home with no problem?,,
sunday 01 august Mnpazier france to Zazuar spain 550 miles of meandering roads with one mountain pass in the pyrenees I tried to post the google map link but from the spanish google site I have some problems finding how to so I will explain and those who care can pin the routing on the map
from Monpazier via country road to Pau then via aremitz then mountain pass called col de la pierre saint martin cross the border at the top then down the roncal valley jaca
tudela , tarazona, soria, burgos de osma , zazuar.
I left at 8.30 on a beautiful clear morning from the B&B in monpazier and started on a 550 miles trip to spain the first 150 mile were just perfect no traffic plenty of nice bends basically grinning for two hours and no bugs I stopped in a small village where some guys were exhibiting some old cars and we talked bike and R3, of all the car on the square none had an engine bigger than the R3 different times then. by the time I crossed into mont de marsan I was riding in the french forest landaise an area south of bordeaux that louis the 14th changed from swampland into commercial pine forest so straight line roads for about 100 miles or so .I managed to take a picture of my face in the wind ,rather disturbing to look at but heck you guys have to suffer through my idiocyncrasies period. .I left that area by oloron village where a giant chair seats on a roundabout do not ask WTF . and then the first downpour hit me just as I ran into a tunnel so I had my lunch saucisson french bread and red wine in that small tunnel about 30 mn later the sun reappeared and I did not have to break the rain gear bag open
from there I reached a fortified town at the feet of the pyrenne mountains and then the fog got into the picture at best I had 50 feet of visibility and hairpins non stop but wait the worst came all of a sudden BROWN ICE also known as COW**** fresh and all over the asphalt the friggig cows are free ranging and they enjoy crapping on the road rather than the side because the ground is level ther must have been a herd of hundreds man I was in first gear dodging brown ice in hairpins and checking for cars coming down the road all at once you will be prud to know I did not fall nor hit anything but I did cut one cowpie in half and nearly wiped out on that one . the fog cleared at the top where the spanish french border used to be it is a french fog for sure since it cleared right a tthe top on the french side . I stopped for a bite on the spanish side and was alone at the restaurant and freewheeled down for about 60 miles turning into clear hairpin to the bottom of the roncal valley and for canadian captain I shot that funny picture you will recognize it means cattle has priority . the castle pictured is of maure style and the last 200 miles were uneventfull except that spanish gas station are all closed on sunday I had to figure out my mileage but this bike saved my bacon I had forgotten the 60 freewheeling miles and I managed to get to destination with fumes in the tank showing 375 kms on one tankfull of gas. amazing now I am goint to try to post pictures in chronological order for this day
enjoy..
