Rev limit???

correct me if I'm wrong fellas...but when we put the tuneecu map onto my 2014 Roadster, the factory rev setting was 6300rpm??...we opened it out to 7150.....I have never been close to hitting the rev limiter!...didn't want to blow the guts out of her did I?...just used the gears and was flying in no time...I did have a dyno tune in her and she did go REAL well...the top speed was limited to 185kph and we moved that out to 250kph and added some fuel at the top end to make it pull strong all the way...If youre hitting the rev limiter, something aint right for sure...and I would expect something might go pop!!.just sayin...

WHY are you trying to start trouble again? no ones talking to you or about you so no point in you saying anything to me BYE BYE
I'm not trying to make trouble you are capable of that all by yourself, I am just having trouble trying to work out why you mentioned 9,000rpm when the OP was talking about a stock motor ..... unless Of course you were just slipping in a plug for your Carpenter modded motors, meanwhile here below is my response to your last part of your post above

Have you used the read map function that is in tune ecu to verify Hanso's map is actually loaded into the ecu? This would let you know you are down loading right and eliminate that as the problem.
Have you tried a different map to see if you can mimic the same problems? If you mimic the same problems with a different map then we could assume the map is not corrupt. And we can move on with the trouble shooting. Heck it could just be going fat rich and falling on its face.

Unfortunately I have not used the read map function yet, my usb to micro usb adapter has come off the end of my tuneecu cable so I need to buy another before I can proceed. I did however try a slow acceleration in 2nd gear today on the way to work. It went up to about 83-85mph before I upshifted. Clearly it's not a rev limit (didn't believe it was). I'll have to double check the map once I get my new adapter.

THE Carpenter bikes are capable of much higher speeds in each gear with the 9000 rpm rev limit so you can easily break the speed limit even in first gear so you have to control yourself in any areas that are set up with speed traps I say this because several of the modded bike owners have been ticketed and didnt realise they had been speeding a little blip of the throttle and your flying

Nice to know but not relevant to my problem, and the subject of the thread. I'd prefer we stay on topic, please.

sounds like youve got a bad map

That seems to be the consenses. Hopefully it just was corrupted when downloaded to the ecu or when downloaded from the Internet. I'll know more after I get a new microusb to Female-usb adapter for my phone. Unfortunately TuneEcu & Mac don't play well together.

i have never tried this but was wondering if u could take a flash light and look into a tank and see anything in the bottom.

when checking cars and trucks for plugged filters i run them around for a while then put into first and go wot to see how hi it will rev. if it is a plugged filter it will be like hitting a rev limiter at about 4500 rpm or earlier. after the long test i some times if i think it is plugged i will put the car in neutral and go wot sometimes they wiill not go over 3000.
that said the rocket is not a car so use caution.
