I really appreciate all the information that has been put in this forum. Before joining, I had heard of only one remapping option. The local Triumph dealer in Kalamazoo offers a upgrade from the touring detune to the specs on the classic. $90.00 and it's done. Reading the links posted here I find that my exaust is a TORs. Also the cat is nothing but a expansion chamber, nothing in it.

So, what RETUNE should I down load for my 2008 R3t. Also I have the interface cable required. Thanks

P.M @HansO tell him 2008T and all of the upgrades. Give him your email address. He will send you the tune you need. @Chip can you add your location to your information

I have a set of D&D pipes on a stock 2015 R3T. The Triumph dealer retuned with some kind of Triumph tune for the pipes. The bike runs great but there are probably tunes available that would extract better performance. So far the performance is more than I expected and its very smooth with no popping even on deceleration from the exhaust. At some point I may become bored and run into someone who knows about the different tunes and then maybe I'll try a different tune. The Boss Hoss that I got in the accident on in August is supposed to be coming out of the paint shop after the first of the year so it will be sharing the garage with the Rocket.
I've grown to like so many things about the Rocket that I will not sell it and will still ride it about half the time.

I just put the D&D pipes with the K&N filter and installed the tune from the rocket touring section--now it is a rocket. I love this tune much smoother, better MPG , and like I said much better acceleration !

G'day chip ,you are correct the box on the cross over exhaust is empty ,I was lucky enough to snavel a cross over replacement pipe from one of the other Aussie on the forum, it is a direct replacement for that ridiculous abomination that Mr triumph decided to install on the Rockets it enhances the exhaust flow and sound of the TORs exhaust on my R3T well worth doing if you want to retain the stock appearance of your Touring along with a remap and a better air filter you will have a much better performing Rocket

YOU can make 165 to 175 HP with a 3 into 1 exhaust system ,intake and a retune

. Thanks for all of the options. Each of you have been helpful. I didn't know about the crossover pipe. I have emailed Hans from Skydogs posting. I understand that my next step should be the improvements on the intake side. Makes sense. By doing the remapping, I think the "low hanging fruit" will be taken. I am planning to run the Rocket this spring with the tune improvement from Hans.
I might have the hp. verified after the remap. This would give me an idea on the possibilities vs costs. Man is this bike fun!
