Removing wheels

Remove wheels

That is the situation I am looking at. I can swap and balance tires myself. If I bring the bike to the dealer, I'm looking at $200! I figure I will do the front tire and try to do the rear. Worse case, I bring just the rear wheel to the dealer.

Thanks Folks! I'm good to go at this point. I really appreciate all the info. I have heard the rear tire is a PITA to replace. I have done a lot of bike tires in my day so I will attempt this. If it proves to be a ridiculous exercise, I will take the wheel to the dealer.

Thanks again!

Well.... I did it. I successfully got the new rubber on the bike. I used an ATV jack to lift the beast. It was not big deal. I did the front wheel myself. That was a piece of cake. I removed the back wheel and got both beads broke and then...... After many attempts to get the freakin tire off the rim I loaded it (rear wheel) in the back of my truck and dropped it off at the dealer. $32 later I was all set. I have swapped many a bike tire in my day but this was the tire from hell. I do not have a tire machine just some tire irons. Ain't no way that baby was going to come off.

BTW, see my other post regarding drive shafts! I got a bit of an education at the dealer.

Thanks again for all of the tips!
