asked this in another thread, but incase it gats missed am asking again

when I removed secondaries, one of the screws was really stubborn and when trying to get it to move the plate + bar turned,

now miami said don't let the bar turn, and obviously I have, is there anything I need to do?

bike appears to be running well, although rather greedy on the go-juice

cheers

Allan

I believe it doesn't matter since it would only affect the timing of the stepper motor.

Would of thought if you had moved any thing to upset it , the check light would be on

im not an expert on these things, but what i can recall is that if it moves the synchronisation will be out, thats between primary and secondary plates , dealer can easily sort it out , im waiting for warranty to expire and will do the same to mine , can you share your impressions with us, ie , is it worth while ,,,cheers

Impressions,

I've not got much to weigh it up aganst cos I did it all at once (pred pipes, K&N's, secondary removal andre-map)

but it is really easy to remove the secondaries, just the 6 screws that the other posts state and it's done, only problem I had was 1 of the screws was "awkward" initially and that's why the plates moved.

the power is now all through the rev range, I upped the limiter to 7k rpm (just because I could) the bike is a bit greedier than it was before but hey, I'm a rich student pensioner I can afford 18 - 20p per mile approx.

I found that because the power was all through the range and she was sounding so **** lovely that I was running lower gears than I used to, so I'm consciously keeping her lower now which isn't spoiling the fun at all

the conversion was simple using Miami's how-to (cheers Miami)

so, for me, the mods are well worth it, and I'm sure all others agree also.

With the plates gone it is not a problem-only if you ever add them back-they will have to be recalibrated.

But nobdy I know has ever added them back

FWIW, I keep it at 6700 RPMS, unless going to a dyno session where I lower it to 6600 (since part of the run involves hitting the rev limiter).

I think the stock engine, while tough, doesn't like the big R's...
With stock cams and short Rock gears, not much use in shifting above 6500 also.

was thinkin of dropping it back Dave, thought 7k was way OTT anyway

but, I want to try her for top end speed before I do
