I was recently searching for a video to give me a few pointers in removing the rear wheel from my 2010 Tourer and couldn't find one. I decided to tackle it myself and made a video in the process. My YouTube Channel is DRMD421 if anyone else needs the info its right there. Nice site here....lots of good info!

Welcome and thanks for the video post. That's the type of info that we like here.

For posting videos, there's a YouTube button above that you can use to imbed the video like this,

[YT]BsMX82HVB_0[/YT]

You only have the video number (the part after 'v=' in the link) inside the YT tags.

Might I suggest a few things:
  • Pop over to the "Introduce Yourself" forum and tells a bit about yourself. You sound like you are from north Texas which would be my guess.
  • Tripod. It makes recording a video a whole lot easier. You can use 2 hands to pull the wheel off (I have to admit I cringed when I saw it drop).
  • Tourer - since you have 2010 you may not be aware that in 2007 there was a Classic TourER model that had leather bags and a silver engine. You have a TourING model and it can be confusing. I'm not trying to be a condescending but we've gone several pages on threads before when someone was calling their bike a TourER when it was really a TourING.
Again, welcome to the board and thanks for the video contribution.

Thank you Tdragger. I am a rookie on the forums and pc in general but I will catch up. I appreciate your guidance and will make the necessary corrections when I get home to my pc. I am from Dallas but cruised through Virginia on my Touring on my way to NYC back in May. Beautiful place and ready to come spend more time sightseeing there. Thanks again, my friend!

You're most welcome. I'm born in Garland, early years in Richardson and later up outside of Bonham so I recognize the accent. There are several other Rocket Captains in your area. Also, if you want to get out again on an eastern US ride, check out the RAA forum for updates on the upcoming Rocket event in Maggie Valley, NC next May.

Thanks for this great video. Much appreciated by a Dutch TourING owner.
Maybe it is a idea to do this more often. In time we do not need the dealer anymore and do all the things ourself.
Just go to the Forum and pick the right video......
Thanks a lot and welcome to this international Goldmine without any costs:)

Welcome aboard. Now that you have the hang of the rear removal, it's a good idea to pull the differential to lube the shaft splines, everyone here says once every 10,000 miles.

I don't have a jack, yet, so have used Flips stand, and removed the fender as well, so the tire slips back and out. That's a bit more than 45 minutes, lol. Nice video.

Thanks for the welcome, fellas. I actually videoed putting it back together today so hopefully I'll have that one posted before too long also.
