Hi everyone, I'm in need of new rear shocks for a /09 R3 touring. I was wondering what everyone is going with. I don't want to pay $1,000 Canadian for a set.
You'll have to look around. Sometimes you can find a good set on Ebay. I Had Hagon Nitros on my 05 and loved them. Back in 07 when I bought them they were $660 USD. Wilbers makes a really good shock. Ohlins is what I have on my Bobber, K-Tek on my T-120. Shop around a little and you'll find the solution.
The harley ohlins 777 i believe black, youll have to change eye size probably, not a big deal ohlins will sell what you need ive done it, probably best shock innyour budget requirements, people like the hagons, ikons, and progressives 444 i believe. Ditto, I refuse to spend $1k plus dollars for shocks and haven't been overly impressed with what I was finding available or not available since I have been slowly going BLACK with much of the chrome on my 2013 R3T. Made the following shock absorber change when replacing the back tire this time as follows:
TRIUMPH ROCKET III 04-14 320mm 12.5 INCH JBS SHOCK ABSORBERS BLACK) Purchased thru Ebay from Jap Bike Spares, Everton Park, QLD,Australia $325.72 w/shipping to USA.
You can go directly to Jap Bike Spares on the internet at japbikespares.com. It just so happened that they also sell thru ebay and ship worldwide. I'm super happy with the results of the shock change. It improved the overall ride quality, improved the stability at highway speeds. Improved steering was also noticeable probably because the old shocks were sagging more than I realized. And they are BLACK and look good.
