Rear Shocks for a plush ride... Recommendations?

Hagon....... I went progressive for a while, but my stainless steel Hagon's are the best available for the R3.

In order of preference, as I have had all of these, at great expense.
Original shocks on my 05, crap, kept jarring my back.
Progressives I found too soft and bottommed out too easily, with no damping adjustment on standard springs and too hard with HD springs, probably due to no damping adjustment for different spring rates.
Shocks on my Roadster are a lot better than the old bike.
Hagons were a big improvement on Progressives but I wanted better.
Fournales HD Alloys. Air shocks, expensive, pain to adjust if you want to take a passenger or different load. The ride is far better than anything else I have tried. 2000 miles round France and Spain 2 up, overloaded and with a broken right leg, no back pain, just faultless, perfect in fast twisty bits too.. Expensive. Expensive. Expensive. So Hagons best compromise for cash.

I use Hagon Nitros which are **** good and also I use YSS which I think are just as good as the hagons. I rate progressive just above the OEM shocks. so tie for first and progessive third OEM fourth. The key is to get the right weight springs for most your riding especially if its one up. Two up just adjust the springs and roll.
hope that helps

hagon nitros all the way . Dont waste your money on progressives like I did.
O.

I have not tried Hagon's but I must say that categorizing all Progressives together is a big mistake. I have tried them before and was never very impressed...BUT...after talking with the most informed person (dirtbike chmpion) I know about this issue, I am now using the 430's which use a whole different dampening system than the others. It is the same valving now used in the most advanced motocross and trials shocks. I've had so many bikes over my 50 years of riding and every bike ( more than 20) had shock upgrades. These 430s are just amazing! No pogoing at all and such a dead flat rebound response! The handling is vastly improved and I must say these shocks are the only after market ones I've used over the years that made this kind of a difference!! This may sound like hyperbole but once in a while, something comes along that warrants it and this is the case with the 430s.
I also love the look of them!
My buddy with his R3 feels the same as do both of my Harley riding sons. Riding the R3 has become a pleasure in terms of handling instead of the lumbering PIA it was.
Try em'...you'll love em'!!
