Progressive says go with a 12.5 inch 440 shock. Has anyone run this stock length in Progressive and then gone to a 13 inch to see if the handling was better?

I have the 13.5" Hagon Nitro shocks (max length). The increased ride height is noticable if you're short legged. The handling is improved since trail is reduced. Shock travel is no different than the stockers so you don't increase the swingarm travel at all. What you get is simply taller in the saddle and better cornering clearance (along with faster turn-in). If you go lower than stock the reverse is true. Straight lines are easy since the bike is harder to turn-in due to increased trail. The travel is again unchanged, but you sit closer to terra firma.

I have the 412HD Progressive in the longer length-I prefer it over stock but the difference is not huge. Bike seems a bit crisper in the handeling dept. but it'll get new front springs soon to finish the deal.

Hi King,
Did you run a 12.5 Progressive and then go to the 13 inch shock. Have you notice anything on any weight moved toward the front wheel by the longer length. In corners how is the rear end sticking to the road? Have you ever broke traction in a corner? How tall are you and do you know if the Rocket is setup with the 12.5 inch just to be a general "zone" for the average rider height?
The Rocket is so nice with the stock numbers, just trying to think through before all said and done with my shock system. I might be over think.

thanks

Just bought Hagon 340 mm( 13.6") rears... WARNING You can only just about fit this length, as the max available distance with the swing arm free & motor jacked up is about 335mm. I had to get 2 people to hold the bike ( frount & rear while I leant all my weight on the top of the shock to compress it enough to fit on. Hagon make them in 10 mm increments so I'd suggest 330 mm(13.2")max if you want a set of longer shocks from Hagon. They look the bollocks tho  bike is very agressive all jacked up at the back & ground clearance is huge.
