2006 Rocket III
Hi I have a 2006 rocket III with decat, triple tors silencers and underseat k&n filter and love it. I have a hanso tune to try out soon and see what it runs like with the secondaries open all the way, unfortunately it has been thunder, lightning and monsoon style rain almost every day since I got the bike and I havent had a chance yet. Its always the way of it, the more expensive the bike purchase the nastier the weather is.

Anyway I have been considering the ramair filter kit for the bike and have done lots of reading through older threads on the forum about it. One question I havent seen an answer to anywhere though is if it hurts power anywhere in the rev range. Looking at it compared to the original long intake tract I would expect a loss in pull at the low end of the rev range. Is this the case or does it provide gains or at least the same performance as the original setup the whole way through?

The rocket is the one bike I have owned where stuff like bottom end actually matters and makes me think about it. Am too used to screaming 13000rpm sportsbikes where all that matters is the power from 10k on upwards.

All else being equal, if you open up the intake and open up the exhaust...you will go lean, and move your torque curve higher in the rev range. However with the proper tune, you will preserve it all and gain some ponies too. For then you have a complete performance kit with all the puzzle pieces fitted! Do apply the HansO tune before you do extensive riding...

This sound exactly the same set up as my 2007 Classic. (TORs, CAT removed and a K&N under the seat) Though I have no idea of the map loaded. I too would like to change to a ramair setup, so if anyone has a map they can recommend I will be forever grateful...
