R3T Needs More Power

Can a 2010 R3T be set up like a Classic? What I mean is can I program my bike to have the same quoted 160 hp, 150 torque as the Classic? This (quoted) 100hp/160lb/ft torque just ain't enough. I absolutely love this bike and won't trade for a Classic, but would love more power. If I were rich and not so darn good looking,(I have to humor myself) I would own both!

I think 50% of this Forum goes about more Power....

Different exhausts
Gipro
Different Tunes ( read about TuneEcu) needs afterwards a Dyno Run to get perfect performance and avoiding damage in the engine.
Removing secondaries
Changing and removing Stock Air filters.

If you do that all you spent some money but after that you need flying lessons ( if you want to fly).
Keep in mind that you also spend each mile some extra petrol by that time.
You can find nice movies on YouTube about all these things.

As Hans said, you can get considerably more power. The 160 number may be a bit hard to hit without internal upgrades, but a tune, exhaust and intake mods will get you over 140 at the rear wheel. Its going to cost you a bit but it can be done.

If you want to spend some more money I hear Carpenter Racing can get 240 HP out of the R3T.

Yea, I'll have to call Carpenter after I hit the lottery. I did put the TORS on with the factory tune from the dealer. I do have a lot to do. I fear it is running a tad bit lean, for it pops through the intake every now and then. I was hoping for a way to just use the Classic tune without a lot of $$$$. PowerTrip is suppose to help me when he gets the cable in. Then I'll try the TuneECU. I just don't want to burn her down. I know a set of headers would help. I also still have the factory cat box.

Actually if you put new exhaust (not tors), triple k&n's, remove secondaries, O2 bypass and new tune you should be just fine. BTW you do not have cats anymore if you have the TORS. The cats are in the slip ons and the TORS doesnt have cats (which is why they say for offroad use only ). So alittle can go along way....good luck!

I have a 2010 tourer and started by fitting a gipro , that give me lots more go in the first 3 gears, then put on tors , removed secondries and fitted triple k + ns but it run like crap so i needed to sort a tune not my best area of knowledge. so fitted a PCV and auto tune . Big cost but big grin , now hold off sports bike 0- 100 mph then let them pass . so yes you can get more go its just what route you take and if cash is the limiting factor you can still do it if your good at the technical side of things. Good luck.

I have posted this more than a few times:
The R3T is no any different than the Classic and standard models.
The main difference is the stock mapping.
A simple custom map wakes up the R3T to the point that wheelies are a simply twist of the wrist away.

The graph below shows a stock R3t as delivered - with a 1 inch hole drilled through the cats/baffles in the STOCK muffler. The TORS exhaust produces the same results with the same mapping.


Light blue - as delivered, with limiters and secondary blades in place.
Yellow - As above, with custom base map, limiters altered.
Green - final results on 87 PON fuel.
Orange - same as green, but with 93 PON pump gas.

Notice the 20 ft-lb and 20 hp increase just from mapping.
For reference, (on my dyno) a Classic or Standard usually comes in around 104.5-106.5 in stock form, and has similar final results after mapping.
