R3T Gas Mileage

I agree with your last statement as mine shakes the handle bars at stop lights just like a Harley, my friends make fun of me all the time saying "she" wants to be a Harley.

Hey Elvis,

Just looking at your avatar...., I have that exact bike. My R3T is the Black and White version as yours. Great color combination!

I have been thinking of powdercoating the lower fork legs black. I was going to do that this winter but never got to it. This coming winter it will happen!

Is the TORS tune needed if you put the Tuneboy on?

It's simply a must to keep the Harley's out of your exhaust system. I try to stop every 50 miles or so and kick em out of there. Milage will improve with a de-junked system.
Yea, we have big a__ bikes. At least we get plenty of rest breaks.

did a nice easy mountain ride with a group of local cruiser and YEA I averaged 30 MPG! So I now know how many are getting such good gas mileage...you go slow.

I just completed a 10 day 4869 mile trip on my 08 R3T with D & D pipes, UNI filter, upgraded Triumph tune, and GiPro. 5 days were tearing up the mountains of North Georgia to include the dragon. 5 days were spent at 75-85 mph on the slabs. Shreveport, La to RI to Ga to Lexington, Ky to Shreveport, La. 38 fuel stops. Averaged 38.5 mph!

I see that no one has mentioned this, but the R3T is very sensitive to which windshield you have on it. With the tall Touring windscreem I was getting between 32-34 at BEST. When I switched back to the short screen, my highway mileage jumped by nearly 4 MPG. Most of my riding is highway, at speeds between 70 - 90 MPH (FHP officers are pretty understanding). Riding over 80 on my bike is the "cutoff" point; 80 MPH and over and MPG drops about 15 - 20%.

Around town - the best you can expect is 28-32 MPG. Just the facts of life for a 2.3 litre motor.

2009 R3T, TORS and Triumph's TORS map.

Stock 2012 roadster - first tank from dealer was nearly 50 mpg (slow, break-in, good highway, no passing, etc...) Next tank was 34 mpg, and so far the best I've been at 36 mpg since.

I drive mostly 80mph interstate commuting to work.

hi ,I got a 2011 roadster took it on a 300 mile round trip and work it out I was getting 47mpg uk, riding between 60 to 90 mph, so very pleased compared to my old rocket 2005, but then a had that rocket tuned up to the hill.
