RT3 Clutch rattle noise
Clutch rattle . Mine too got that bad i sent her in for the upgrade, not before dismanlting the clutch assy myself for inspection and a measure up. This rollover rumble noise eminates from the excessive tollerence between the spacers and inner bearing sleve with surport the large dia. clutch housing. To little clearence with lock up the transmission/ to much and we get a rattle. Mine had .015" endfloat which is probably a production tolerence so all parts will fit being mass produced. Ive reduced this clearence to .005" by very carefully machine grinding the inner spacer. maybe .008" would of been safer. anyway, It still grumbles a bit in neutral but its a working clearence. In my opion this centre surport beaing and sleve assy need to be at least twice the original Diameter considering the large size of the Clutch housing.
